Patina In The House...
Veranda Magazine / Red Cross Designers’ Show House - Palm Beach
Veranda Magazine & The American Red Cross Greater Palm Beach Area Chapter have partnered for the second year to present the 31st Designers’ Show House - an exclusive showcase of home collections and luxury brands featured in rooms designed by 15 acclaimed interior designers, from across the U.S.
This year's Palm Beach Show House was housed at the historical landmark Ann Norton Sculptor Gardens. The Gardens comprise the former residence of sculptor Ann Weaver Norton (1905 -1982), the widow of Ralph Hubbard Norton. The house is listed in the National Register of Historic Places, and the 1.7-acre property, featuring a collection of 300 species of tropical palms, lies near downtown West Palm Beach on the Intercoastal Waterway.
Patina was well represented in the designs of Lisa Erdmann & Associates who took on the daunting task of designing a master bedroom suite for Ann Norton herself. " We approaced the design as if Ann were our client, " said Lisa, " We did a monogram on the bedding, Ann Weaver Norton, on the bed side table there's a picture of Ralph Norton."
The focal point of the room is the custom painted Patina Friuli bed. "I love Patina. We use it all the time in our designs, mixing old and new pieces and customizing them to our customers' preference."
"We took a yard of fabric and sent it to Italy and Patina matched the color palette and style of the fabric in a custom design for the bed pulling in their own personality as well. It was more beautiful than I ever could have imagined."
The small master bath presented its own special set of problems. "We were struggling with what we could do to be very special in this room given the small space we had to work with, " said Lisa, "The Patina vanity has a great, subtle personality, very elegant, very beautiful with Bulgerian limestone top and the Cheryl Wagner fixtures."
"Patina was great to work with on this piece. They just said 'Let's do it!' and ran with it. We pulled this together very quickly and we were all very pleased with the way it came out."

In Loving Memory ...
Marcus (1992 – 2007) Beloved friend and colleague.
For many years Marcus was on duty at the Patina warehouse and on the delivery truck, helping to deliver our furniture. Marcus was the best-traveled dog we know and a devoted companion to Imre. He’s going to be greatly missed. Thank you, Marcus, for the memories.
