The Patina Bulletin JULY 2007

The Last 5,000 Miles ...

When It Absolutely Has To Be There On Time...

You're almost done but now the installation is looming! Client expectations are high. Months of your time have been spent getting the details right. Patina's artists and craftspeople have labored intensely over your custom pieces. The budget has been spent and it's time for it to all come together.

That's when Tim Stevens, Patina Operations Manager, and his staff shift into high gear to make sure every piece of Patina furniture arrives intact and is exactly the piece you specified in your order.

Every month, the crew at Patina's warehouse in Atlanta, takes delivery of 45 - 60 pieces shipped via container from our factories in Italy. Each piece is individually wrapped to protect it on its long trans-Atlantic journey.

"We carefully unwrap every piece," says Tim, "and inspect each piece individually. We check the color and decoration, match the strikeoffs, check the dimensions, the pulls, make sure the locks work and the other hardware is correct. We go over every piece in complete detail."

"We pride ourselves on getting the details right at Patina," says Tim, "We want our pieces to leave here with everything working correctly and be delivered in a timely and safe manner."

After inspection, each piece is then individually blanket wrapped and scheduled for delivery. If the piece is destined for the east coast or the midwest it will, most likely, be delivered and installed by Patina staff, either Imre or Victor, who make weekly trips throughout the U.S..

Tim and his crew are also capable of making minor repairs and doing touch ups for customers well after the initial delivery, a service that is greatly appreciated by owners of Patina furniture. "I remember one time we replaced the pull on a cabinet that had been chewed off by the owner's dog," says Tim, "We always try to go above and beyond to keep our customers happy."

The Patina DVD Nears Release.

Patina Inc. is proud to announce that it has completed production on its first DVD and is making plans for the official release later this year.

The DVD includes sections detailing both the history of the company and painted furniture in general, as well as a behind the scenes look at Patina’s workshops in Italy. Also, the viewer is walked through a detailed breakdown of the Patina model number, that somewhat bewildering string of letters and numbers associated with every Patina piece.

Last, but not least, the DVD will take the designer through the complete process of working with Patina to create unique custom pieces.

Patina hired one of Italy's most heard and recognized voices, Giovanni Noto, to be the voice of Patina on the DVD. Giovanni is an extremely versatile Italian voice talent and actor whose voice is regularly heard on Italian TV and radio for major brands like Martini, Ferrari, Alfa Romeo, Alitalia and Lavazza. He can also be heard in Italian film trailers, corporate videos, audio books, cartoons and video games.

The DVD will be distributed through Patina sales reps nation wide. For more information contact your nearest sales representative. We're also thinking of having some very special screening parties so watch this space for details!

A Patina Classic!

The Bellagio Mirror

The Bellagio Mirror – The town of Bellagio has fascinated poets and artists ever since the Renaissance. And the delicate, flowing, carved wooden ribbon on the frame brings to mind the waters of Italy’s Lake Como where the mirror’s namesake is located.

The Bellagio Mirror reflects both the beauty of a Shelley lyric poem and the sweeping movement of a Liszt piano composition in its perfectly proportioned oval shape.

Available in two sizes: Standard - 25”W X 45”H and Small - 22”W X 34”H. The glass can be either aged or not and the frame can be painted in any combination of standard colors offered by Patina.

For more information about the Bellagio Mirror (Model number M07/ST/SL-BK/AG), please contact your nearest Patina Sales Representative.
